Kathryn was a perfect host. Rest and be Thankful is a charming cottage. We were welcomed with bread, milk, filter coffee, tea bags and charmingly a bottle of fizz, perhaps because it was New Year, but whatever the reason, it was gratefully received. The accomodation was clean and tidy and the kitchen had everything we needed. Gardens and orchard were great for our dogs and there are plenty of great walks close by. We walked through the woods to The Paper Mill in Wansford for food (highly recommend the fish and chips). The cottage is quite remote so very peaceful. Amazing views and I cannot find fault with the accommodation, the location or the host. Perfect weekend.

Myself and my family had a fantastic time at Rest and Be Thankful. The location was great as it was within easy reach of all the places we wanted to visit. The property itself had everything we needed and more. It is a beautiful property with great views and walks. We felt comfortable and welcome from the second we arrived.

Perfect if you’re looking for a rural country experience. Kathryn provides a very warm and welcoming stay. A very comfortable two bedroom cottage with plenty of space. A true feeling of the English countryside way of life. If this is what you are looking for, you will find it difficult to match.

10/10! Peaceful location, a delightful cottage with everything you need. Helpful, friendly owners. We hope to return in 2018.
— Lyn (Cottages.com) - December 2017

Inside, the cottage was of the highest standard, a real home from home. Everything you needed in the kitchen and state of the art Air Con downstairs for cold and hot days. Hosts were absolutely wonderful, couldn’t do enough. I had parents and dogs with us - rules were set out in a pleasant way regarding dogs etc. to ensure everyone keeps the premises beautiful, which I appreciated. The cottage is right next to Sulehay Nature Reserve, so nice to be able to walk out of the gate, walk a short distance and find a great, safe walk. I arrived in need of a holiday and the very first day had relaxed completely in this peaceful, charming cottage. We’ll be back!!!

— Laurenne (Airbnb) - August 2017

The surrounding area is blessed with lovely walks, beautiful scenery and a truly restful and peaceful charm. Within easy travelling distance, an abundance of lovely gardens and boundless history are accessible. Great market towns, amazing grand estates, and we were not disappointed with any of the eateries recommended recommended by our helpful hosts. The cottage was well equipped in all respects and the very effective wood burner was much appreciated. Very highly recommended!

She kindly left the air conditioning on the day we arrived which happened to be one of the hottest! Accommodation spotless and with everything we needed including bread, butter, milk etc for breakfast. Beds very comfortable, many thanks!

— Lorna and family - August 2015

My wife and I had just come back from our honeymoon and wanted to get away with our two dogs. The cottage was a perfect size for what we needed with all the amenities and comfirts of home. The grounds were great for the dogs and there wer plenty of walks as well as dog friendly pubs to eat in. Owners were very helpful and friendly in advising on places to eat and visit in the area both in person and in the form of a welcome folder. Would certainly consider returning in the future.

Lovely, peaceful place with a great view of fields. We relaxed immediately, stars at night and total quiet. We spotted badgers one night. Everything provided including the added touches of toiletries in bathroom and milk, bread and jam in the kitchen, high quality bedding and towels. Hosts are very friendly and happy to take the time to introduce you to the animals. Loved the horses, dogs and glimpse of the cat. Will stay again when next in the area.

We stayed here for three nights and thought it was fantastic. It was home from home with everything you could need, in a beautiful area out in the countryside but not far from Peterborough and Stamford. Everything in the cottage is top quality and the beds are so comfortable. We would definitely stay here again when we are visiting family. Can’t speak highly enough of Rest and be Thankful. A big thank you to Kathryn and her husband.
